Endodontics and High-Risk Patients: Adapting to Make Better Decisions – Poitiers
Dr. Maud Guivarc’h – Marseille.
Endodontic treatment cannot be viewed in isolation from the patient’s overall medical context. Identifying high-risk situations may therefore lead us to reconsider our indications and adapt our protocols or treatment plans. Through various clinical scenarios, this presentation will propose a rational approach to treatment decision-making for these patients. It will also provide an opportunity to review the current state of knowledge regarding the links between endodontic infection foci and certain chronic systemic diseases.

La Rochelle Conference – Addressing Complexity in Endodontics
When Endodontics Leaves Us in Doubt: Welcome to the Land of Uncertainty—Dr. Guillaume Savard —45’
Faced with ambiguous symptoms and complex diagnoses, endodontics remains a daily source of clinical uncertainty. How can we make the best treatment decisions when confronted with gray areas and prognoses that are sometimes unpredictable? This lecture invites you to explore Paul K.J. Han’s model to better understand and manage our reactions to uncertainty. Discover practical strategies for structuring uncertainty, reducing ignorance, and refining your daily practice. Come challenge your assumptions and embrace this paradigm shift toward confident and informed dental practice!
Clinical Management of Complex Anatomies – Dr. Laurent Arbona – 1 hour
Given the complexity of anatomy, modern endodontics requires precision, foresight, and mastery of imaging techniques. From managing complex anatomical structures to preventing treatment failures, every clinical step relies on precise protocols. The combination of visual aids, ultrasound, and thermal technologies now offers new therapeutic possibilities. This conference presents a structured approach to ensure the safety of your treatments, overcome daily endodontic challenges, and improve treatment quality.
When the Challenge Isn’t the Tooth: Gag Reflex and Limited Mouth Opening – Drs. Hélène Chiffoleau and Agnès Sadoux – 45’
Because sometimes the challenge in endodontics isn’t the tooth itself, two dentists will share their tips and tricks for treating patients who are phobic, prone to gag reflexes, or have limited mouth opening.
Clinical Practice: Root Canal Preparation in Complex Anatomies: Navigating Curves and Obstacles – Dr. Cyril Vidal
During this hands-on session, we will guide you through the management of curved—and even doubly curved—canals. Using various systems for canal preparation and access cavity shaping, you will be able to smooth out sharp bends to reach the apical third without loss or fracture.
